If the Boise Weekly Cover Art Auction were a human being, that person would be old enough to vote, join the armed forces and buy tobacco. Instead, it's one of the premier visual arts events of the season, and it's coming up soon.

On Wednesday, Oct. 2, it will take over the Visual Arts Collective in Garden City. Festivities start at 5 p.m., and will showcase some of the best visual art in the city, putting it up for auction. Bidding began on First Thursday in September, but folks can still get in on the pre-auction action (and grab tickets) at Boise Weekly's Auction Frog site. Early bids help set the baseline prices at the auction itself.

A few things to note: This is an event for folks ages 21 and over, and admission is $20, which will automatically be credited to winning bids on art.

Over the nearly two decades of the auction, Boise Weekly has raised almost 300,000 for our annual Boise Weekly Arts Grants, supporting artists, their projects and arts organizations across the City of Trees.

We hope to see you there!
