Re: “Your Health Idaho: Deadline to Finalize Health Plan is April 15

Single male in Idaho here. I have had about 3 or 4 Jobs in this state, I used to get paid alot more, I now work minimum wage at a business that was affected by this act as well, so we do not get many hours like the rest of you. I am happy enough to have a job doing something I like so I really am not complaining about that. It just is what it is. I would like to let you all know where I am coming from. It has never been convenient for a single male who is not on some kind of welfare in this state to get affordable and fair healthcare. Single males do not usually get on welfare here in this state unless if they are diagnosed with some kind of society affecting mental disorder.

Most of us single males choose not to be lazy or want to accept a handout like that. We would rather self medicate than do that. So when you see all of my brothers from Idaho, who are in jail for drug charges, they now actually have better access to healthcare now that they are in jail or prison, and the sad thing about that... is that our prisons are being accused of not providing adequate health care. I think it is pretty funny. Society has turned me into a cynic, and for that I apologize. When all of these bass ackwards laws are passed, why aren't we asking ourselves, ok who is this going to benefit? And has not history shown widespread abuse of systems when government provided medical assistance is handed out, and the people are almost always the ones who get abused. Welfare and Medicare, yes I am sorry but I have seen the big picture and I see now how it really is designed to keep the people poor, I have experienced many examples in 20 years.

Here's my experience with health care in this state. I paid in a plan 6 months through an employer once, I used it one time and still paid high upfront costs, so after not using it after getting sick that time I decided, why waste all this cash, it's a drain. The excuses to have health insurance make no sense on a market that is ridiculously expensive. Then when I did get sick again, Since bailing on insurance I was doing fine paying what I thought was fair for what I was provided in the emergency room visits, for pain pills or stitches or the like without insurance, I would pay them a few hundred because it was what i could afford. (Was about what I paid up front with insurance) The system found out quickly that any charges over 1000 can go ahead and go to collections because I did not ask to be charged that, I would of avoided them If I knew the price. Thus my very core being feels honestly and morally justified when I say no collections, I will not pay your ridiculous asking price, I will go for street alternatives even if it is for surgery. Being in my class of wealth I have never signed up a credit card, and somehow your collections is going to make me cry about my credit rating, I couldn't hope to own a home, or get a new car if I wanted to these days so why need I care.

There is nothing about this whole "Affordable Care Act" That is Affordable or Caring for me or my people, I have looked at my options for health care. Unlike a lot of people who like to complain about things they know nothing about, I actually try to see what my options are and usually keep my opinions to myself. But when I see that the IRS is threatening me by taking money I earn at the end of the year, the money that was already taken by the Fed and the State, Do you think that is supposed to scare me into buying into a system that will drive me further into a state of being broke all the time? This by all means is not a complaint. I am writing this is to let you all know what I am going to do about it. I am either, going to buy a type of insurance that is compatible with all state laws, that is not offered by this great market place you have. At a fraction of the cost. If that does not work, I might just stop filing taxes for a while, even if this market place gave me free insurance, I wouldn't take it because I really do not want to depend on the federal government for my well being. If you really cared about me, why don't you try supporting me to be independent to see what great things I would be able to accomplish that could be mutually benefiting. I refuse to travel down this one way street. Money doesn't stress me out like the system forces most of us too.
