Brundage Mountain Prepares for Earliest-ever Summer Opening

Brundage Mountain ski resort in McCall announced Monday that it will open for the summer season on Saturday, June 16, its earliest date on record.

“This is our earliest summer opening in history, but we’ll have almost all of our trails open and ready to ride,” resort spokesperson April Whitney wrote in a press release. "... Our trail crews are working hard to clear the snow from the north-facing slopes of Upper Hidden to get that last piece open as soon as possible.”

On June 16, visitors to the resort will have access to the entire Brundage Bike Park and all hiking and cross-country trails, as well as biking opportunities on Elk Trail, Growler, High Voltage, Grouse and Lower Hidden Valley. Smoky’s Bar & Grill will also be up and running to provide pre-ride fuel, and chairlift rides and a disc golf course will add to the fun.

The initial opening will only be for two weekends, Saturday-Sunday, June 16-17; and Saturday-Sunday, June 23-24. Starting Wednesday, June 27, it will open for Wednesday-Sunday service. Breaking the pattern, Monday, July 2 and Tuesday, July 3, will be "bonus days."

Lagging only a bit behind, the resort's Summer Concert Series will kick off Friday, June 29, with a performance from Dodgy Mountain Men and a prix fixe Basque-inspired dinner. Find a full roster of events at
