Businesses Return to Normal After Brief Lockdown in Fort Boise Area Following Report of Shot Fired

Some businesses in the Fort Boise area went into a brief lockdown Thursday morning as Boise Police investigated a report of a shot fired in a nearby parking lot. Police said no one was injured and there was no indication that anyone was in intended danger.

Witnesses told police that a man had been sitting in a vehicle and was holding what appeared to be a firearm when it discharged. Police are still trying to locate the man, described as a heavy set white male with a round face, short brown hair and glasses. He wore what appeared to be an orange-striped or salmon-colored shirt, and cargo style shorts. His vehicle was an older forest-green Jeep Cherokee. 

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS. BPD said nearby businesses had resumed normal operations by early afternoon.
