Campfire Theatre Festival

The logs are arranged, the newspaper is balled and the match is lit—it’s time for Campfire Theatre Festival. Making its triumphant return, Boise’s festival for playwrights, particularly those hailing from underrepresented or marginalized backgrounds, will pitch its tent at Boise Contemporary Theater this weekend for three days of staged readings, workshops and guest performances.

Readings of gems like Little Perfect You by Caitlin Turnage, a play about a small girl named Lemon with a talent for robot construction; and The Fermi Paradox by Katherine Vondy, the lonely tale of an abandoned astronaut, will tug every heartstring at Campfire. And the slate of workshops on auditioning, writing, directing and more are sure to be as helpful as they are entertaining.
