It is hard to believe that a beer can get so cold. We actually checked it twice, days apart, and it still came in about the same. This isn't beer, it's a beer slushy-the first time we've ever had brain freeze from a beer. Harleys, burgers, beer and pool; send us to heaven, but don't call us a fool. Whether you're in for the grub or the beer, they know how to serve it up right. (4 TVs, 2 pool tables) 704 E. 1st St., Meridian, 888-9868.
2004-33.4° (14th place)
2003-36.6° (48th place)

Happy Hour: All day Monday, Tu-F 4-7 p.m. ($2 domestic draft)
Hemingway wouldn't like it, but it's a clean, well-lit bar with a friendly staff. Ice formed in the beer froth it was so cold! What's with the zombie-flick under bar lighting? But hey, only here can adults throw their food on the floor (well, peanuts). (3 TVs)8799 W. Franklin Rd., 377-5565.

3rd Place

Open: Su-Th 11 a.m.-12 a.m., F-Sa 11 a.m.-1 a.m.
Happy Hour: M-F 3-6 p.m. ($3 appetizers)
With a temperature that beat last year's number one winner, this brew is downright nippy. Hooter's lives up to its name; pneumatic female pulchritude abounds. Open, spacious eating area combining sports bar feel with diner vibe. Christmas lights are an odd touch, but no owls in sight. (13 TVs)8000 W. Franklin Rd., 321-4668.

Dark, cool and loud music. Staff is surprisingly perky no matter how full the bar. It's the perfect place to sit at the bar while the spouse entertains the kinderfolk at the table. (6 TVs) 600 N. Milwaukee St., 373-0889.
2004-30.5° (4th place)
2003-29.9° (2nd place)
