CWI Announces Matching Scholarship Program Through IDeal

The College of Western Idaho has announced a matching scholarship program designed to increase Idahoans accessibility to post-secondary education.

CWIDeal, announced today, offers students who have applied for federal financial aid and pay CWI tuition through IDeal college savings accounts may apply for up to $500 per semester in matching scholarship funds. The concept is geared toward families using a dedicated college savings account to fund education.

Students who qualify must apply for federal aid through the Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) and be a student in good standing taking 12 or more credits at CWI.

CWI made headlines April 24 with the announcement that the college had purchased 10 acres in Boise's West End neighborhood. Boise Weekly readers later learned that the community college's board of trustees had purchased the land, assessed at $3.6 million, for $8.8 million without conducting an assessment on the parcel. Readers can catch the full story in this week's edition of BW, out Wednesday.
