Re: “Idaho's Infusion Confusion

this is a copy of the comment I made yesterday on the Statesman's website on their article about this same subject.

Lt. Wheatley, if you read this, maybe you should take at least one of your extra ten officers you hired and have him help Jaimy Adams. Apparently Adams "workload" is so overwhelming that the paperwork I turned into him last Wednesday to get my temporary liquor license transferred into my business name has not even been looked at by him, per the phone call I made to him yesterday, Friday, at 3pm, hence this means that my bar has now been closed for four days and given that the Ada Co. Commissioners only meet on Tuesdays, I won't be able to get their signatures to validate my County license until February 19th. That means I will be closed for a minimum of 13 days. That is a loss of at least $21,000 of business income, a major loss in income for my employees and at least $1200 dollars of sales tax revenue for the state.

Re: “Dying Letter Office to be Showcased at Bricolage

Amongst the utility and credit card bills, advertising circulars and various other junk mail, receiving a DLO package in my mail is a breath of fresh air. Thanks Elijah!!!

Re: “Smoke-Free Proposal Turns Podium into Pulpit

Where are all of our so-called individual rights supporting Republicans when it comes to speaking out against this issue? If you are old enough to go into a bar, you should be old enough to decide if you want to go into a smoking bar. Personally, I do not smoke, never have and never will, but it is like the Martin Niemoller statement:

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out...

I may be a non-smoker, but since the Grand Old Party of hypocrites remains silent, I will gladly speak out and fight for my smoking brethren's right to smoke!

Re: “BW Asks Luna Students' Questions for Them

McGrath's states that: "Computers (laptops) would only be used in the classroom setting and the teacher is always the manager of that classroom" and then follows that quote up with this one: "the manner of online courses could include everything from lectures via Skype to students having the ability to interact with a teacher via instant message." If the students are not allowed to remove the laptops from the classroom there is no need for the use of Skype or instant messaging because their teacher would be right there in the classroom with the laptops. Maybe it is me, but these two quotes don't seem to justify the situation.
