  • Star Wars: The Last Jedi  premiers today, and there's already speculation that its opening weekend sales could top that of its predecessor, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. CNN Money said it's unlikely, as a "perfect storm" of timing and quality made The Force Awakens a cultural phenomenon, giving it the biggest opening weekend in box office history, raking $248 million.

    Today is the final day for open enrollment for health insurance policies through Your Health Idaho. Nationwide, enrollment in health care plans through state exchanges are expected to be lower than the last open enrollment period, when 9.2 million people signed up for plans, due to an abbreviated sign-up period mandated by the Trump administration and reduced funds for advertising statewide exchanges.

  • The New York Police Department has opened an investigation into claims of sexual assault made against hip-hop producer Russell Simmons, CNN reports. So far, three women have accused the Def Jam founder of rape, and several more have accused him of various forms of sexual misconduct, with the latest allegation surfacing this morning.
