Depression Era Dance Class 

When: Tue., March 31 and Thu., April 2 2009
Price: $25 YMCA members; $35 non-YMCA members
TrICA teaching artists Leta Neustaedter and Jon Swarthout are offering a Depression Era dance class at depression era prices. Learn the steps to the 1920s Charleston, how to keep on moving through the 1930s Legendary Dance Marathons and step it up during the Inspiring Harlem Renaissance. Lessons progress into the post-depression 1940s Big Band Swing dance steps. The classes are held Tuesdays, March 31-April 21 at 3:35-4:15 p.m. (ages 3-5) and 4:20-5 p.m. (ages 6-8). Thursday classes run April 2-23 at 3:35-4:15 p.m. (ages 6-8) and 4:20-5 p.m. (ages 9-12). Register by calling Mary Biddle-Newberry at the Downtown Family YMCA, 208-344-5502, Ext. 276.
