Dining Is for Lovers: BW's Picks for Where to Eat and Drink with Your Valentine

After Thanksgiving and Christmas, Valentine's Day just might be America's biggest food holiday—and it's certainly the most romantic. While you don't have to dine out with a significant other on Thursday, Feb. 14 (If you're flying solo, going out with friends or looking for something casual, this list may be more your style), there is no shortage of local options for those looking to do just that. Here are some of our favorites that fall within a week of cupid's arrival:

Valentine's Dinners at The Bishop's House - Tues.-Wed., Feb. 12-13, $50 per person
This four-course Italian dinner is catered by Luciano's and served in the historic ambiance of The Bishop's House. Wine and other beverages are included.

Valentine's Week at the Chateau - Tues-Sat., Feb. 12-16, $65-$79 per person
Chateau des Fleurs in Eagle is one of the Treasure Valley's most romantic spots to spend Valentine's Day. A four-course prix fixe dinner ($65 per person) will be offered all week, accompanied by glasses of rose and live music. While the restaurant is already full for Feb. 14, tickets are still available for the Valentine's Day Ball in the Chateau's Platinum Ballroom, which includes all of the same perks, plus live music and dancing ($79 per person).

Lemon Tree Co.'s Vegan Valentine's Dinner
 - Feb. 14, $85 per person
This four-course, plant-based, gluten-free dinner is the brainchild of Chef Christina Murray, and will be served at a communal table and paired with vegan wines.

Edge Brewing Co.'s For the Love of Seafood Dinner and Beer Pairing
- Feb. 14, $120 per couple
This five-course dinner and beer pairing is focused on all things seafood, from caviar and scallops to grilled lobster and squid ink linguine. 

Chandler's Prix Fixe Valentine's Day Dinner - Feb. 14, $55 per person
This classy three-course dinner at one of Boise's best steakhouses includes your choice of soup or salad, entree and dessert. There's even a vegan "steak" option for plant-based eaters.

Richard's Prix Fixe Valentine's Day Dinner - Feb. 14, $65-$90 per person
This four-course dinner includes an appetizer, soup or salad, entree and dessert. Steak and seafood are the focus, but diners can add a wine pairing for $25, bringing the $65 per person price tag up to $90.

Camel's Crossing Three-course Valentine's Day Dinner - Feb. 14, $59-$65 per person
This three-course dinner includes a soup or salad, entree and dessert, plus an amuse bouche and a glass of sparkling wine. Ordering in advance shaves $6 off of the per-person price. 

Valentine's Dinner, Wine and Music at Cinder Winery - Feb. 14, $100 per person
This upscale affair features a three-course dinner from Open Table paired with wine, an additional bottle for each table and live music from Steve Fulton and his musical friends. As of Feb. 5, only eight of the 40 tables were still available.

Valentine's Day Dinner and a Show at Solid - Feb. 14, Prices Vary
Order two drinks, a sharable appetizer, two entrees and a dessert at Solid on Valentine's Day and you can score tickets to an upcoming comedy show of your choice at Liquid Laughs (with some exceptions). Prices vary depending on what you choose from the menu.

Love Is in the Air: Valentine's Day Dinner and Love Songs at Rice - Feb. 14, Prices Vary
This classy three-course dinner is all about steak and seafood, with live music from Sally Tibbs and Kevin Kirk providing ambiance. Check Facebook for a preview of the mind-blowing heart-shaped Valentine's Day sushi roll.

Whichever event sparks your interest, be sure to snap up tickets soon—seats at these swanky soirees go fast. Wild Plum's Retro Valentine's Dinner and Vine and Branch Ranch's Farm to Fork Dinner, for example, are already sold out, but be sure to keep an eye on both companies for next year, as they're always up to something creative.
