Disc Fore!

Disc Fore!

Apparently the breeze of a closely passing Frisbee made a few drivers just a wee bit nervous with regard to their spendy rides because Boise Parks and Recreation reportedly fielded some phone calls from "concerned motorists." The Julia Davis Winter 9 disc golf course, located in the far east corner of the park bound by Broadway Avenue, Myrtle Street and the Boise River, was closed temporarily while the department worked with Gem State Disc Golfers to remedy the issue. The solution was an ever-so-slight redrawing of the course, in which the former hole No. 2 became hole No. 1, all subsequent holes moved up a number, and a new hold No. 9 was placed right in the middle of all action, just east of the paddling pond.

And if charity is what'll get you out in the cold for a round of disc golf, then mark your calendars for the annual Ice Bowl happening this year on Jan. 26 at the Ann Morrison course. Regardless of how low the temp goes, the show will go on. The annual nationwide canned food drive benefits the Idaho Foodbank. For more information, visit DiscGolf.vpop.net.
