Whether it's working to protect open spaces or attract entrepreneurs, Boise is always expanding its reach. The City of Boise Cultural Ambassador grant program is the jewel of that work, and previous recipients include Trey McIntyre Project, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, author Anthony Doerr and Treefort Music Fest.

The application for the two-year ambassadorship is now open, and individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations are welcome to apply.

For eligibility requirements, terms of the program, the selection process and a link to the application, visit the Boise City Department of Arts and History website. Don't dally, though: Applications are due Thursday, Aug. 31, and the new ambassador will be announced at the Mayor's Awards for Excellence in Arts and History Thursday, Sept. 21.
