Treefort Music Fest is notorious for keeping the fire burning all year round, spinning off preview shows, launch parties, afterparties and other affiliated events. Whatever the calendar date, there's never a fort more than a few branches away. This summer, the music festival's day-to-day concert arm, Duck Club, announced its latest: live music and visual art at The Owyhee during First Thursdays in June and August.

The action starts on Thursday, June 6, when Boise "junkerdash" group Hillfolk Noir hits the Owyhee lobby. The band will play while local artist Kevin Gray shows his exhibition, Appaloosa—a series of mixed-media abstract paintings.

On Thursday, Aug. 1, Nick Delffs will play, and Brigette Nelson of The Garden City Projects will show her steel and jewelry work, as well as her graphic design.

There will be no music or art on First Thursday in July, since it lands on the Fourth of July.

The music runs from 5:30-8:30 p.m., and is free to the public.
