E. coli Confirmation Triggers Recall of 14 Brands of Bottled Water

Fourteen separate brands of bottled water were recalled Monday due to possible E. coli bacteria discovered at the spring source.

The California-based Niagara Bottling said there had been no confirmed cases of consumers falling sick, but the company posted instructions on its website on how to identify the effected products and dates to determine if the water should be returned for full refunds. The recall only relates to spring water produced from June 10-18.

The company said its products were voluntarily recalled. Meanwhile, the company said it had terminated its relationship with Pennsylvania-based Far Away Springs, the source of the problem water. A Niagara spokesman said they became aware of the problem after Far Away had been notified by the Department of Environmental Control and the Department of Agriculture that officials had confirmed positive test results for E. coli.

The brands included in the recall are:

Acadia Spring Water
Acme Spring Water
Big Y Spring Water
Best Yet Spring Water
7-11 Spring Water
Niagara Spring Water
Nature’s Place Spring Water
Pricerite Spring Water
Superchill Spring Water
Morning Fresh Spring Water
Shaw's Spring Water
Shoprite Spring Water
Western Beef Blue Spring Water
Wegmans Spring Water
