Elijah Jensen-Lindsey: The Diamond Body Takes a Bough

Saturdays through May 28

The power of spirit.

Elijah Jensen

The power of spirit.

In 2009, local visual artist/musician/carpenter Elijah Jensen-Lindsey was in a car accident that took the life of his mother and left him, his brother and his father seriously injured. The near-death experience affected Jensen-Lindsey both externally and internally. As he coped, he created. A new exhibit showing at the Visual Arts Collective, The Diamond Body Takes A Bough, is work Jensen-Lindsey made during the past seven years, a period he describes as one of "physical and spiritual upheaval, alcoholism, chronic pain, marriage, contentment and loving gratitude," in which he created work he explains as an "exploration of the inherent tension between loss and hope, the waking life and dream state and the peace found in chaos."
