First Thursday: Downtown Boise Winter Window Gallery Stroll

The record-setting cold snap that fell over the city of Boise a few weeks ago brought more than snow days and slow-moving traffic to the valley. It also caused some delays to a classic downtown tradition: the Winter Window Gallery Stroll.

"Some [window paintings] had to be put on hold," said Karlee May, member services and communication manager at the Downtown Boise Association. "The artists started and couldn't finish until it warmed up again because it was too cold for the paint."

The inversion finally lifted and 23 local artists were able to finish their window paintings in time for voting to begin on Dec. 1, which is where you come in. Check out the intricate window paintings all over downtown businesses, then vote for your favorite at or Voting is open through Wednesday, Dec. 31.
