For What Ails Ya

On Thursday, Satchel's Grill, in conjunction with Shu's Idaho Running Company, will host its second annual All-Star Musical Night, a benefit for the American Cancer Society. Mike Shuman of Shu's Idaho Running Company said he got the idea from his good friend, local musician Gayle Chapman. "She came to my 50th birthday party and we started talking about putting something together."

As soon as Chapman was on board, Shuman said, everything else fell into place. He said last year's event was so successful, there was no reason not to do it again. "It was standing room only," Shuman said of the first event. "It was so busy, Dominic ran out of food."

You might want to get there early this year. Shuman's e-mail distribution list numbers somewhere in the 20,000-recipient range and he's planning to send what he calls a "healthy" e-mail blast about the event this week.

Musical acts include Gayle Chapman, Rebecca Scott and Debbie Sager, Ken Harris and the Hoochie Coochie Men, Ben Burdick, James Karl, Stella, Desert Swing, Pat Folkner, Michael Ray Cox and Shakin' not Stirred.

May 8, 6 p.m., $10 donation. Satchel's Grill, 705 W. Bannock St., 208-344-3752.
