Otter Names Ken Roberts Chair of Idaho Tax Commission

The Idaho Tax Commission has a new chairman.

Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter has named Ken Roberts the new chairman of the ITC. Roberts, an ITC commissioner and former Idaho Representative, replaces former Chairman Rich Jackson, who will continue as a commissioner while also chairing the Multistate Tax Commission in 2016.

In a Dec. 18 press release, Otter stated, "Ken brings his invaluable experience in business and as a former legislator to the process. As discussions on how best to reform our tax system move forward, he is well positioned to guide the Commission through those challenges."

Roberts served as the House Majority Caucus Chairman, and he campaigned in 2009 in the race for Idaho's First Congressional District seat, then held by Democrat Walt Minnick and currently held by Raul Labrador. Roberts, a Republican from Donnelly, resigned from the Idaho House in 2012.
