Gray Wolf Shot 

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has confirmed that a gray wolf was illegally shot around noon on Tuesday, June 21, south of Banner Summit on Highway 21. Concerned citizens reported the incident after witnessing a man with gray hair shoot a wolf on the highway. The suspect was standing near a new model dark-colored pickup truk and was pulling a camp trailer.

Wolves are protected under the Endangered Species Act and killing them is punishable by a fine of up to $100,000 and one year in jail. A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered. Call (208) 378-5333 if you have information. Callers may remain anonymous.
