The 2018 Boise River Float Season will officially begin on Friday, June 22.

It's only fitting that news of the opening day for floating the Boise River came down the pipeline on the first day of summer. On June 21, Ada County Parks & Waterways announced that the 2018 Boise River float season will officially begin on Friday, June 22, with tube and equipment rentals kicking off at noon in Barber Park. Shuttles will start leaving Ann Morrison Park at 1 p.m. to take floaters to the put-in site.

ACPW did have a few words of warning for eager recreators, emphasizing that even with the go-ahead the river will still be cold and fast-moving, and floating is an "at your own risk endeavor." You can find float safety guidelines and information on the put-in site here
