James Castle House to Premiere New Boise Arts Talk Series in January

The James Castle House was always meant to be more than a museum. It has already established a robust artist-in-residence program that has brought out-of-state and local artists to the fore, and starting next month, the Boise City Department of Arts and History will launch Creators, Makers, & Doers—an arts talk series set in the house and featuring some of the most recognizable names in Boise's visual arts scene.

Creators, Makers, & Doers began as a blog series on the Arts and History website. The new talks will consist of informal gatherings at the James Castle House where 25 people can participate in person, and anyone who can't make it through the door can watch on the Arts and History Facebook page.

Opening the series is photographer and Boise State University adjunct professor Jim Talbot, who will speak from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17. Future installments will take place on Thursdays each month, also from 6-7 p.m.

They include:

Chris Binion on Feb. 28
Randy Van Dyke on March 28
Stephanie Inman on April 18
Dwaine Carver on May 16
Lynn Fraley on June 20
Grant Olsen on July 18
