Re: “Of Mice, Men and School Boards: Coeur d'Alene Trustees Will Consider Controversy Over Novel Tonight

What world do these people live in! I am sure that today's kids could tell them what all the words mean because most of them use them. Too dark? Really? I read the book and it is, but isn't life at times?

Re: “UPDATE: War of Words Ignites Among Idaho GOP In Wake of Defeat of Child Support Measure

Well, that just great. So everyone here is for the bill and it's ok that it brings us up to par with International law. The bill says this and that a special office in the Atty General's office would have to be set up and international lawyers would have to be hired. Why do we have to abide by international law? Are all of you commenting want to do away with U.S. law and have international law rule us?

Re: “You Have the Right to Remain Silent (Don't You?)

Thank you Boise Weekly. Here in Gem County we are watching this very closely and I think that those in charge here know that we are watching Payette County and looking at Gem County. Hopefully we will not have the issues Alma has called attention to and that Gem County will not be willing to give the farm to Alta Mesa. No road maintenance ordinance? Really Payette County? No conflict of interest Payette County Commissioners? Really?

Re: “Drilling Into Idaho's (Other) Common Core

No one talks about forced pooling. Alta Mesa will petition the Gas Commission to force landowners to give up their minerals. Property rights are out the window. Otter and the Idaho State legislators sold the citizens out on this issue. Do you know what it feels like to hear a citizen of your county stand and say I don't own my mineral rights. I own my surface rights and I don't want you to drill my land? Well, they told my friend go get a lawyer and sue us, but we will win because the gas is needed for the public good. Many people here in Gem County have no clue that Alta Mesa will be drilling as soon as an ordinance is in place. So much for education. If you want to lease with Alta Mesa and you own your mineral rights great for you, but if you don't well too bad the state and Alta Mesa will take it. They are laughing at the small counties were the only thing they get to decide is the color of the well head, the fencing the lighting and the setbacks. Everything else in the bill HR464 has been decided for counties and we have been told if we make it too hard for Alta Mesa the State will come in and take over. What country do we live in?
