A few weeks ago junior tennis stars from Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming competed in Denver, Colorado for the USTA Intermountain Summer Sectional Championship title. Lauren Megale from Boise placed second in the girls' 16 singles category. She also teamed with Missy Harris from Billings, Montana to win the doubles championship in the same category.

obese idahoans

There's been a lot of talk lately how obese Idahoans are becoming. In 1985, less than 10 percent of residents were obese. We passed that mark in 1990, and the 15 percent mark in 1996. In 2001 we surpassed 20 percent. At this rate by 2030 more than 50 percent of Idahoans will be porkers. At least we aren't as fat as Alabama, Indiana, Mississippi or West Virginia. Moral of the story: Get out and get some exercise.
