Republican U.S. Senator and presidential contender Rand Paul named Idaho GOP Congressman Raul Labrador today as Western States Chairman of Rand Paul for President. Labrador would provide campaign insight in Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, Washington and Arizona.

"Raul has lived all across the western part of the country, and I am honored to have his support as the Western States Co-Chairman of Rand Paul for President," said Paul in his official announcement.

Labrador lived in Las Vegas, Nevada, attended school in Utah and Washington, and was a member of the Idaho Legislature before being elected to the U.S. House in 2010.

"We need a leader who will unleash the American Dream by restoring fiscal sanity, limiting the powers of our federal government, and reviving our Constitutional rights. I believe Rand Paul is that kind of leader." said Labrador. "And I am proud to stand with him as he seeks to become President of the United States."

Paul campaigned for Labrador in a Boise $2,000-a-plate Boise campaign fundraiser in June 2014. It was one of the last Labrador stories reported on by then-Idaho Statesman veteran reporter Dan Popkey before he joined Labrador's staff as spokesman the following month.
