Re: “The Fine Line Between Art and History

Just a quick point of clarification; I am advocating for going through the usual channels for public art with this proposed 'art intervention.' In order for the art to have significant meaning, it would need to have a community base of support for it. It would mean that a formal proposal would need to be submitted and accepted, otherwise it would likely be viewed just as negatively as the original mural.

Re: “The Fine Line Between Art and History

Hi Anna, Thank you again for asking for my input to your essay, 'The Fine Line Between Art and History.' You handled a sensitive subject very well. Nice going Anna. It was interesting to read what the people who work in the old courthouse had to say about it. Heather and Dallas had notable takes on it too. I thought it was telling that out of the three indigenous people you interviewed, you got three different answers. It obviously means that the issue is more complex than it seems and there are no easy answers. In the meantime it stands as a beacon to American apartheid, both past and present. I posted it at my blog site: Thanks again, Larry
