Re: “One Officer, Scores of Tickets and a Familiar Racial Disparity

I am appalled. Some folks feel empowered by Mr. Trump's Election and behave accordingly. Facts verified by credible third-party reporting agencies. I am tired of racism, criticism based upon religious beliefs or sexual orientation. We are all humans and we are all different. That is exactly how the Good Lord intended us to be. I've read the Bible many times. I've translated portions of Ancient Greek and Ancient Hebrew. And no where, absolutely no where, do I find any statements whatsoever by the Good Lord advocating such terrible behavior. I do read the Good Lord advising us to love the Father with our whole heart and soul, and then to love one another in the same fashion. No footnotes. No exceptions. No qualifiers. Each and every one of us has an obligation to treat each other as we wish to be treated. This is so basic that even Trumpettes and current Republicans should be able to understand as the wording confines itself to their comprehension level----single syllable words.

Re: “St. Luke's Begins Massive Expansion

This expansion should give us pause to contemplate the overall state of American health care and where it is headed in the future. Current health care expenditures exceeds $2.6T. We have tremendous resources, not so good allocation. I still see the President of the Pittsburgh Hospital struggling to justify his $2+M/year salary. The current increase in cost of health care and health care insurance is simply unsustainable, unless we are willing to accept a new form of feudalism where most of us become serfs to the medical community. We need an honest discussion of costs and income associated with a system that is a monopoly pure and simple.

Re: “This Is What Politicians Debating Global Warming Will Look Like Soon

I am curious yellow about this: how many of our local politicians still believe that Global Warming is not occurring? Any and all answers appreciated. Larry Sirhall

Re: “Department of Justice Says Boise 'Anti-Camping' Ordinance Targeting Homeless is 'Poor Public Policy'

Admittedly it has been a few years since I've looked at the U.S. Supreme Court Decisions in this area. I do remember a case involving the City of Los Angeles where the Supreme Court held it unconstitutional to enact statutes outlawing status crime. In other words, it was held unconstitutional where the statute's true purpose and intent was to punish individuals for being a vagrant; i.e. a homeless individual. I would like to hear from those smarter than me their thoughts as to whether or not the Boise City Code at issue falls into this category. Larry Sirhall

Re: “Meridian Parents Charged With Felony Injury After Child is Left in Hot Car

Idiots!! Drug test them with a hair follicle test. Me thinks they're druggies and not good. Words cannot express my outrage. Larry Sirhall

Re: “Kids Count: Poor Marks for Idaho's Inadequate Access to Pre-K, Health Care

Idaho has aggressively moved to the bottom of every meaningful category. Being a lifetime resident, I am tired of this. Our children deserve better. And I don't care what Party you belong to. We all want what is best for our children. Period. Part of the problem is the influx of retired people who do not want to pay for anything, contribute to our welfare and only want a nice life, serviced by minimum wage workers and no taxes. Me to them: hit the road Jack....Larry

Re: “Labrador, Simpson Vote Against Water Rule, EPA Pushes Back With #DitchtheMyth

Rather, than pandering to the Far Right, our Congressmen need to build relationships to protect Idaho water. California, especially the Central Valley, want and will take, if Messrs. Labrador and Simpson are asleep at the switch, most of our agriculture water. They are already arguing that the Central Valley produces far more products, in value, than Idaho farmers. I do not care who belongs to what Party. We need to mature, band together and protect our water. Period. Larry Sirhall
