LED at The Egyptian

Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14-15, The Egyptian Theatre

In the beginning, there was the Trey McIntyre Project. Boise's first Cultural Ambassador, it produced some of the most original dances the city had ever seen. Then, in 2014, the company's founder pivoted away from dance. Far from leaving Boise barren, TMP's exit opened a world of opportunities and led to the formation of multimedia arts collective LED. Named after its founder and former TMP dancer Lauren Edson, or maybe the light bulb, the company has moved far beyond dance, composing exquisite movement, music and light performances that have become the toast of the town, from its treatment of the life of Zelda Fitzgerald, This Side of Paradise, to the riveting Waters Into Wilderness. Its latest event at the historic Egyptian Theatre will include older work from Artificial Flowers and Intergalactic Mixtape, and a new piece, Flight Instructions.
