Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz: Crunk Juice

It's always a party with Lil John. And Crunk Juice is what he drinks at the party--or spills all over the floor just like the cover of the album. Rhythmic? Yes. Catchy? Not so much. Profound? Uh, no. Lil Jon and his crew include just about every hip hop name in the biz, from Lil Scrappy to Fat Joe, on just about every number. Lo and behold it's a mishmash of styles that even people with ADD have a hard time getting into. But there is one consistent: in the vein of his last big hit "Get Low," Crunk Juice is all dirty south party rap that will have dancehouse subwoofers vibrating and Top 40 fans gyrating. Such is already the case with the first single "Lovers and Friends," featuring Usher and Ludacris, on which the label woefully tries to recreate the success of the trio's last collaboration "Yeah." Nice marketing idea, but instead they should have picked the goofy-raunchy musical standout on the album, the DJ Flexx-assisted "Aww Skeet Skeet," which will surely have the kids dancing like flushed game birds.
