Re: “The Cure That Kills

I was given several courses of fluoroquinolones for sinus infections following common upper respiratory cough/cold/flu bouts. The first was Avelox 10 years ago, and I felt like I'd been beaten all over. The doc said it was the virus. The second and third exposures were in 2010 - admitted to the hospital both times for muscles cramps that felt like heart attacks. Diagnosed with costochondritis and then rhabdomyolosis, but no one linked the damage back to the meds. Finally in 2011, three days into a Cipro course, my muscles started twitching. Neurologist said motor neuron damage, and after negative tests for everything from Lyme disease to ALS, I figured it out by doing my own research online.
