Los Angeles, New York ... Boise?

The Knitting Factory's Los Angeles and New York venues have long been places both bands and fans know and love. Boiseans and Spokanites can now add themselves to that list.

The Knitting Factory's move into Boise and buy-out of Bravo Entertainment and of the Big Easy Concert House (both the Boise and Spokane locations) has been in process for a few months. The official name change from Big Easy to Knitting Factory Concert House will be celebrated by a grand reopening on Saturday, June 21, with music by the inimitable Reverend Horton Heat, Nashville Pussy and the Supersuckers.

Talent buyer Mark Dinerstein, who has been in town 10 months now working on the transition, said there will be noticeable changes in both the physical location and the acts KFCH brings in.

"We have renovated the Boise venue with new lighting, production and given [it] a facelift with new decor and some added touches like turning the Bourbon Street bar into the Alterknit Lounge (a name borrowed from the lounge space at our Los Angeles venue)."

Dinerstein said they will continue to book perennial favorites like Ted Nugent, Flogging Molly and the Rev., but he hopes "everyone will notice that we aim to expose Boise to some of the freshest acts like Flobots (July 17), Matisyahu (July 30) and The Faint (July 31)," he said. They even have indie rockers TV On The Radio booked for Sept. 12.

The fresh new face on the brick-and-mortar venue and hot new acts that may not have considered Boise a tour stop under the old regime will offer show goers a value-added experience. But for Dinerstein, that's only part of what KFCH plans to build their success in Boise on.

"Coupled with our attitude to 'put our customers first' and a serious enthusiasm to be Boise's best presenter of live music [will] hopefully translate to a long-standing relationship with Boise. We are excited to be here, to say the least."

June 21, Reverend Horton Heat with Nashville Pussy, Supersuckers. 8:30 p.m., $20, The Knitting Factory Concert House, 416 S. 9th St., 208-367-1212.
