March 23, 2018: What to Treefort 

Fridays are when Treeforters cut loose. The music is hot and the forts are firing on all cylinders. Some folks have their schedules figured out to the minute, but for those who don't, here's a handy list of performances and activities.

Music: Local multi-instrumental group 208 Ensemble will perform at Boise Contemporary Theater at 4:30 p.m. At 4:45 p.m. Lido Pimienta will hit the Main Stage. Oddisee & Good Compny will perform at the Main Stage at 7 p.m. and Curtis/Sutton & The Scavengers will play Tom Grainey's at 8:15 p.m. Headliner George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic will play the Main Stage at 8:30 p.m.

Alefort: The tipsiest fort will be open from 3-8 p.m. today, with BA Sour Coconut Porter, Heritage Crab Apple cider, Oak Aged Double Deadfall Barley ale and much, much more on tap.

Artfort: Don't miss The Shrine by St. Terrible and House of Upside Down, which runs from 3:30-8:30 p.m. at Alefort, or Ashley Carlson at the Treefort Gallery in The Owyhee from 5:30-6 p.m.

Comedyfort: Headliner Daniel Van Kirk will perform a set starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Main Stage. Emma Arnold will be at the Red Feather Cellar at 7:30 p.m. and headliners Solomon Georgio and Gina Yashere will be at Liquid at 8 p.m. and 10:15 p.m., respectively.

Filmfort: Catch mixed shorts at 3 p.m., Bed Stuy Do or Die at 5 p.m. and Everything Beautiful is Far Away at 7 p.m. at The Flicks.

Foodfort: Chefs Hugh Acheson and Carlo LaMagna will be at the Alefort tent at 4 p.m. Learn about Filipino food with LaMagna starting at 3 p.m. at Alefort.

Hackfort: Friday is a big day for Hackfort at JUMP. In the Loft Room, you can learn how to pitch your tech story at 1 p.m., and DJ Michna will talk about sound engineering and "foraging beats" at 3 p.m. Then, check out the adult-friendly hardware hack in the Maker Studio at 6 p.m. Plus, learn to build a robot with Somnox in the Maker Studio or a Twitch-TV channel in the Inspire Studio. Both events take place at 1 p.m.

Storyfort: At 1:30 p.m., join Lido Pimienta, Micki McElya, Sean Desiree and host Frankie Barnhill for a panel discussion on art, identity and voice. Novelists Stewart O'Nan and Jonathan Evison will read from their work at 4:30 p.m. at The Owyhee. They'll read again and sign copies of their books at Rediscovered Books at 7 p.m.
