“Don’t slay your dream dragons; make friends with them.” —Stephen LeBerge

Dear Dream Zone, I dreamed that I was supposed to take my husband and his grandmother to the airport on my way to work. For some reason, I wanted to get rid of them and asked them if I could drop them off earlier so I could get to work on time. I know this sounds like a boring dream, but it left me with a very disturbed feeling and I am not sure why. —Rita 43, Norfolk, VA

Lauri: Your husband's grandmother may not be playing herself in this dream. She may symbolize something about your husband that has gotten "old." Whatever it is, it is something you are ready to be rid of, just as you were ready to get rid of them in the dream. You also mention work twice in this dream report. Is it possible that work is taking up too much of your time and attention lately? This dream was disturbing because it is commenting on something that has been bothering you lately, something you need to “work” to correct.

Rita replies: You are good! My husband has been working very long hours every day of the week including weekends and it is really getting old. Yes, work for me has been mentally exhausting and I need a long vacation badly.

Fascinating Sleep Fact: Are you getting enough sleep? Lack of sufficient sleep (seven to eight hours per night) can have deadly consequences. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates conservatively that each year drowsy driving is responsible for at least 100,000 automobile crashes, 71,000 injuries, and 1,550 fatalities.
