“Our dreams are a second life. I have never been able to penetrate without a shudder those ivory and horned gates which separate us from the invisible world” —Gérard de Nerval

Dear Dream Zone, I had a dream last night that I caught, by surprise, my son-in-law and daughter making love in my bed. All I remember is that he was butt naked! What does that mean? —Dianna 58, Isleton, CA

Lauri: Ha! Well, your son in law may not necessarily be playing himself ... but first, let's assume he is himself in this dream. Has he recently "revealed" anything to you? Has he opened up or "bared" his soul to you at all? Usually, nudity in dreams is about feeling embarrassed, vulnerable or exposed OR about openness and honesty, having nothing to hide. If that's not the case, it may be that your daughter and son-in-law represent a younger version of you and your husband or current relationship. Have things become a little hum-drum or even non-existent in the bedroom? Your dream may be telling you that you need to bring back that fresh vitality into your bed ... naked buttocks included!

Dianna replies: Lauri, Lauri, Lauri. I think you are right on! I laughed because I think your second explanation hits the nail right on the head!! I have recently gotten out of a five year relationship with my boyfriend who is 20 years younger than me. I have been thinking about him a lot lately and miss him! As a matter of fact, we are friends only lately, no bodily contact! We went to the car races on Saturday night and he was looking very good to me!!

Celebrity Dream: Actor and dancer Mark Wahlberg “cherishes” his recurring nightmares where he relives his prison sentence for assault when he was 17. He claims that dreaming of his time in prison is a constant reminder to make the right decisions.
