Re: “Reel Foods Fish Market Closing Jan. 31, New Location Still TBA

Doesnt Boise have a small business development department to help businesses like this? Without Reel Foods in the dowtown there will be no fish market. The displacement of a core business like this os a real loss for the city.

Re: “At State of the City Address, Bieter Makes Plea for Sports Park, F-35 Mission, New Main Library

The benefit of the doubt? You mean for allowing oversize developments in the foothills with no regulations for open space and preserving future trails access? Or do you mean for supporting commercial development that will demolish residential housing in the downtown. Perhaps you mean the foothills levies that put the burden of maintaining open space on tax paying residents rather than developers. Mayor Bieter, as long as your governing body refuses to actually play a role in planning and zoning that respects residents rather than mollifies developers, you deserve the doubt until we see the benefit. You can blame sprawl which is out of your control, but you cannot claim the high road until your administration takes charge of the development interests that are using Boise as a playground.

Re: “Idaho to One-And-Done Landlords During Eclipse: Don't Forget To Collect Taxes

How desperate is the state of Idaho to trifle with this. How about collecting more corporate taxes from the free riders you have set up. Seriously you should register with the state for one night? That would mean more work for the state than the money they would take in. Don't let this get out or the country will be laughing at us yet again

Re: “DBA State of Downtown Coming Attractions: A Stadium Update and Al Fresco Dining in the Middle of Capitol Boulevard

What bubble do these people live in. Capital Dining. Can the traffic get worse? Stadium money for the few. Make no mistake, these people do not have the interest of the people who live in town in mind. Boise, Denver, Phoenix. What will be the difference? The most livable city indeed.

Re: “UPDATE: Boise Foothills Flap Surfaces in Idaho Supreme Court

Anyone ever hear of scenic corridors? They are being destroyed in Boise. A big part of what makes Boise 'Livable' is fast disappearing. That open area anchors the central foothills. Without it the area is just another over developed tract.

It's high time Boise started practicing the values they profess to support in their own plans. No More Ridgetop Building! Are you the Most Livable city or the most compromised
