Minnick Sets Fund-Raising Mark 

If there was any question about Walt Minnick's conviction about running for the state's First District Congressional seat, his first quarter fund-raising total should put it to rest.

Minnick announced last week that he raised more than $400,000 between October and December 2007, a total his campaign believes will be a first-quarter record for Democrats.

Minnick reports that $100,000 of the total came out of his own pocket, and that the campaign now boasts $310,000 cash on hand.

Minnick's opponents, Larry Grant and Rand Lewis, will be required to file their first quarter financial reports by Jan. 31.
