Newspapers like ours love change

Newspapers like ours love change, so we're going with it. This is my first week as editor of BW, and I'm delighted to say we've now got Deanna Darr, a Boise native with lots of newspaper experience, on board as the new news editor.

Big things are afoot: For starters, we're going to Cuba! Barring any last-minute travel snafus, we've dispatched a reporter to Fidel's homeland to report on Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter's quirky trip. Look for news about that on our Web site and in forthcoming issues of BW. And, starting this week, we're launching "BW Beat" on We'll have news, reviews and stuff we can't wait a whole week to tell our readers. We realized there's this thing out there, called "The Internet." Sounds like The Force to me, but we're game.
