Northwest Quest for the Best, Round 2 and Round 3

January 25 and 27, 2007

Congratulations go out to October Tree for winning Round 1 of the Big Easy's Northwest Quest for the Best. They'll be competing in the finals. Now, it's time for Round 2 and Round 3.

Round 2 showcases local urban, blues and jazz sounds and includes Rob Simons, Smooth Old-Fashioned High, Texas T, Phlatline, Stealth and IQEQ. Hang out for the whole show and you'll be treated to probably the most diverse of any of the rounds: You'll hear jazzy riffs, straight-up rap, techno melodies and more. Each band is scheduled to play a 20-minute set and the show gets started a little later than the others at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Round 3 kicks off with a punch to the solar plexus: It's Hard Rock night. The lineup features Scribe, the Maladies, GuerrillaWrench, Dirty Rooster Lollipop, Sprockets, Sub*Vert, Evologic and the S1nd1cate. The first band takes the stage at 5:30 p.m. Be prepared to hear and see some serious rocking-out.

If you want to see this battle to the end, Round 4 commences on Feb. 10, again at 5:30 p.m. with the kinder gentler sounds of Barefoot Backstage, West of Eerie, The Skyhawks, Hannah Amelia, Big Ring, Billy G. Camp Band, Guest House and Fred Crabtree. The finals take place on Feb. 16 at 5:30 p.m.
