Note April 15, 2009

'Round about this time every year, you'll find a main feature story on music in these pages. Last year, Amy Atkins posited that Northwest indie record labels were well situated to weather the changes in the music business. In 2007, Nicholas Collias thumbed through the "big fish files" to ask whether it was possible for musicians to make it big in Boise. Stick with the time machine and you'll find similar stories going back several years, but this year, we leave all the usual suspects by the wayside and instead check out a scene Boise media outlets don't often talk about: the Latin music scene. Ever wonder why hundreds of people gather in a business park in Meridian on a Friday to dance the night away? Check out Nathaniel Hoffman's story on Page 13 for your answer.
