  • A group of Senate Republicans, still intent on upending Obamacare, surprised a number of their colleagues Tuesday when they attached a repeal of the Affordable Care Act to the still-being-debated bill to rewrite the tax code. The New York Times reports some moderate Republicans and several Democrats worry the last-minute move might doom the chance of passing a tax bill before the end of the year, especially if it's shackled to an Obamacare repeal.

"The people this is going to hit are middle-class people that ostensibly this whole [tax] bill was supposed to be about helping," said Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri).

  • In today's New York Times, Lindy West, author and contributing writer to the Times, pens a must-read op-ed, with a scathing analysis of the controversy surrounding comedian Louis C.K., who is accused of and admitted to numerous instances of sexual misconduct.
