Life's Kitchen Wines and Dines Boise for Youth

Life's Kitchen, a nonprofit organization providing job and life skills training to young adults, will hold the latest in a series of Guest Chef Wine Dinners on November 11. While they have brought in many talented gourmands to design and present unique menus, this event will feature the bold, adventurous culinary style of Life's Kitchen's own executive chef, Richard Mount.

Mount's feast can only be called a tribute to the flavors of the Northwest, including Dungeness crab cakes, ahi poke salad, fresh oyster stew with pancetta and Pernod and Idaho russets, greens with Idaho smoked trout, apple chive fritters, salmon and pomegranate drizzle, risotto with wild mushroom and garlic wilted spinach, and for dessert--poached pears in phyllo baskets surrounded by a vanilla bean crème Anglaise and a Port wine reduction.

Mount explained that such events are a great venue for meeting people, enjoying delicious food and giving back to the community by supporting a great cause. Northwest wines accompany dinner courtesy of Wild West Wines & Spirits and Scott Cunningham will give an informative talk about the vintages. Tickets are $75 per person, and the price is worth all of the wonderful programs that will be made possible by your contributions.

For tickets and information about the November 11 dinner call Life's Kitchen at 331-0199 and reserve seats with a credit card. To receive the monthly e-mail from Life's Kitchen that includes wine dinner announcements, please e-mail
