Re: “Opinion: Arizona Alienates World as "Hate State"

Sorry, 12 million illegals have selfishly prevented probably 10,000 legal immigrants from their chance to live the dream. Proximity to the US is not a criteria to entry or to citizenship. It IS also tru that Conservatives have selfishly stomped the American poor by both attracting and hiring the cheap Mexican labor...AND SKILLED...Mexican workers. They play Mexican against white against blacks for the lowest wage. It is also true that MOST Mexicans believe that most of the Southern USA is theirs by land grant--and are slowly taking it back by volume of "immigrants" moving north. It is also true that Mexico has a very harsh illegal's system--just get busted there without your papers. It is also TRUE that both Republican and Democrats are stealing my 4th Amendment RIGHTS over this and terrorist crap. In the end, we cannot grant citizenship to millions at once. Acculturation is a vital part of maintaining unit cohesion in terms of a "country"...(that is UNLESS your goal is to NOT have a "country" when you are done???)

Re: “Where Citydesk is Ensnared in a Permitting Nightmare of his Own Making

One: Farming is a Hell of a lot more "historic" than most of those pseudo-historical sites they protect. But Republicans are all about having millions of rules to stomp on the rights of a free people. And Republicans are all about Taxes. And Republicans are all about fences--When it keeps the poor out. They seem to love gated communities. Dammit: "Good Fences MAKE Good Neighbors!" Now that is Historic!

As for this article, perhaps: "Cope-U-late" more, would help the situation?

Re: “Out-Republicaning

[ Eli's Hammer ] Here is what I see playing out into 2012. At least with my cute-bunny goggles on. It's probably going to be uglier than all hell. I believe that, as this piece states, Obama is doing some 4-D Triangulation, and probably figures by now he's a one-term President. He's going to go down to save the country...a country that probably deserves, at this moment in history, to get a lesson. There isn't a Republican wonk out there that don't realize Obama is doing some stuff that has to be done, and has had to be done for 20 years...but no one has have the huevos to do it heretofore. That baby-boomer-bell-curve-bulge is here. It isn't too many tomorrows until it's today. While the 'poor' can certainly use health care...it isn't really the 'poor' as we think of it that will be the stone around our American necks. It will be our grandmas and grandpa types. Living far beyond the projected years...requiring health care far beyond the insurance company's desire to pay. Breaking the economy. These TEA party demographics especially--the very ones who hate Obama the most--will be the "sponging bums" they so detest. But first they will have to kill off their parents...those lazy, drains on the treasury. REpublicans realize the problem--they just don't have the balls to fix it. (so like with Clinton--they will wait for some one else to step on the third-rail) [more later]

Re: “Out-Republicaning

[ Eli's Hammer ] I really don't know where to begin on this one. Believe it or not, I may be at a loss for words! (applause dies...) This nice guy, with a nice family, Obama...I think-- I almost wish he does lose 2012 and ends up not beaten physically and mentally into the ground as our last few Presidents have been by their terms-end. I think he may be too good of a man to have to endure another 4 years of this crap from both sides. None of our Presidents are whipping boys, and yet that is what they have become. Because Obama is still young, and his hair isn't white yet from the stress...he might still have time to enjoy family life and finish watching his kids grow up. We probably don't deserve him, and most of you would say "good-riddance" anyway. So, because I like the guy and politics ain't beanbag, it looks like it's game on. The 'progressive left" don't appreciate what he's done, and the hapless 'TEA-tal-i-tarians' think he's the Anti_Christ, and the Republicans want to massage the TEA-Taliban...hmmm. Scratch-scratch...slurp-slurp...scratch

Re: “Predator and Prey

[ Eli's Hammer ] OK guys (b/w delete person(s)) I get it...You take this wolf thing uber-serious, and my intro using Little Red Riding-hood's Grandma was not appreciated. You want 'serious' wolf talking. Just the facts. No levity, no side banter. I guess wolves being re-introduced is a serious thing. For one there is no reason to do so, and secondly, doing so stumps reason. Wolves are pack-predators: They are the Bloods and the Crips of the animal world. Wolves don't much care if the dinner is an elk, a deer, a toddler, a sheep, some casual rodent, a sheep or a cow. Wolf eats what wolf sees when it is hungry...and often kills when it isn't hungry. Training its young, etc. The fact that some find the wolf 'pretty" or "noble" or "cute" matters little to either wolf or to its prey. Well, perhaps to its prey--who gets dead. Wolves wander rather large territories and tend to increase rapidly. There was a time I expect when wolves played a vital role in the food-chains; Those days are long past. Reintroduction of the wolf, the grizzly bear and the Anopheles mosquito serves no noble purpose, no greater purpose, and no reasonable purpose. Let sleeping dogs lie.
