Boise police confirmed Tuesday morning that a pedestrian and cyclist were struck and seriously injured in separate Saturday evening accidents.

Emergency responders were called at 10:15 p.m. on May 7 to the 1800 block of W. Main Street. That's where witnesses told police an adult male was struck by a passenger car. The victim was rushed to a local hospital as the driver of the vehicle was cited for inattentive driving and failure to provide proof of insurance.

One hour later, Boise police responded to the intersection of N. Latah Street and W. Meadow Drive. Once on the scene, police were told that a male bicyclist—traveling in the bike lane—was struck from behind by a truck. Witnesses added that the cyclist's helmet was shattered in the crash. Police said the driver of the truck didn't stop and sped from the scene. The cyclist suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital.

Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
