Re: “Idaho Law Enforcement Looks to Double Cellphone Fee to Shore Up 911

There are many systems avalible without these large price tags for public safety radio networks. You chose this system, being highly warned about the costs. Now you want to make us pay even more to fund a system that actually falls under short of communicating with all groups. Watch those words Boise Weekly. There is no mandated law in this state regarding 700 MHz. These comments in the past have gone all the way to court, and the state was forced to issue a statement on the information being use to push people into joining, to offset these costs. Many county's and states have other types of systems in place that do more, at a lower annual cost. We don't want to pay for your lack of research and engineering. NO to the fee. It's not a 911 phone service anyway as stated above. You go find the money, because you made this decision to put this propriatary system in place which only communicates within its own system which is of a closed architecture. A intraoperabilty system, not interoperability, look up these terms. Chech out the stories about Detroit and Oakland. The bay bridge is another. These systems are costing too much and failing in many parts of the nation.
