Reardon Appointed to Fill Idaho Fourth District Court Bench

  • Magistrate Judge Michael Reardon has been appointed to the Fourth District bench.

Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter announced this morning his appointment of Michael Reardon to the Fourth District Court. Reardon will replace retiring Judge Cheri Copsey.

"I'm very pleased to be able to appoint someone with Mike's talent, experience and commitment to public service," wrote Otter in a press release. 

An Idaho native, Reardon graduated from Meridian High School and attended the University of Idaho for his law degree. He has since served as the Ada County Prosecutor, the Idaho Attorney General and as Kootenai County Prosecutor. He also worked at a private legal practice. 

He was appointed in 2004 to the Ada County magistrate bench and served as a pro-ten district judge in the Ada County Mental Health Court.

"I am both grateful and humbled by the confidence the Governor has shown by my appointment," he wrote in this morning's release.
