Scratch & Sniff Stamps">The U.S. Postal Service is a Teflon-coated American institution. Rain or shine, its uniformed deliverers bring bills, junk mail and coupons to American mailboxes, battling irate yard dogs and black ice. Despite the drudgery, the Postal Service can still surprise and delight. Starting Wednesday, June 20, it will roll out its first-ever series of scratch-and-sniff stamps: "Frozen Treats Forever," in Austin, Texas. They feature neat illustrations of ice pops that, when abraded, release sweet, fruity aromas. While olfactory pleasure isn't something most people associate with the mail, starting this month, people won't have to hold their noses while opening mystery envelopes.
