This was a particularly dangerous weekend on Idaho highways.

Idaho State Police say a Caldwell woman was killed early Saturday morning when her vehicle, traveling south on U.S. 95 just north of New Meadows, left the road and smashed into a tree.

In eastern Idaho, ISP say a 77-year-old man was rushed to the hospital when the vehicle he was riding in was struck from behind Saturday night while travelling on Interstate 15 near Shelley (south of Idaho Falls).

An Idaho Falls teenager was injured in a single-car rollover Saturday morning on Interstate 15 near the Bannock County town of Inkom (near Pocatello).

In north central Idaho, two teenagers were hospitalized following two separate accidents: One was a two-vehicle crash late Friday night in Lewiston, the other a one-vehicle crash Saturday in rural Latah County.

Law enforcement say they expect traffic to be increasingly challenging in the coming week as the beginning of Idaho's graduation season intersects with the Memorial Day holiday weekend. AAA of Idaho estimates more than 195,000 Idahoans will travel 50 miles or more during the coming holiday, with more than 171,000 traveling by motor vehicle.
