Sinker Butte: Explosive History of Southwest Idaho

Dr. Brittany Brand, Boise State geology professor, will lead folks to the Swan Falls Dam area to examine Sinker Butte, possibly the biggest hydro-volcano in the world. Register at the WinCo parking lot on Meridian Road off I-84 (Exit 44) at 7:30 a.m. for an 8 a.m. departure. Return to Boise by 5 p.m. Take lunch and water, and dress for the weather. Sponsored by the Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology.
