Re: “Take a Village

Ms. McMillan, I am not remotely familiar with this case. I'm merely familiar with how the process of removing a child from the home and how termination of parental rights work. There are checks and balances along the way. While the system isn't perfect, what is more often the case is children go back to abusive homes.

You're eager accusations and ridiculous ramblings erode your credibility. Your self-righteousness and big mouth are going to cause more harm to this woman than anything else. Do you or Ms. Niyonzima not have a lawyer instructing you to keep your big mouth shut?

Re: “Take a Village

Wow! Talk about a slanted story! The state can't comment on the specifics of what their investigation concluded as it would violate the privacy of the children. So instead you have one side that has a vested interest in making a victim out of the adult.

Abuse is abuse, no matter the culture. If abuse was in fact occuring (which due to the privacy of the chidren, will never come out), what choice did the volunteers, Health and Welfare, and the judge have? Should children be subjected to abuse because it doesn't feel good to take a child from a refugee?

I see all kinds of negative judgments against the volunteers, going so far as to say they rigged this to advoid the fees associated with international adoption. If it's possible for these individuals to be that corrupt, isn't it just as possible that the mother is an abusive liar?

Come on people! Maintain good sense and perspective.
