Sleater-Kinney is touring on its new album 'The Center Won't Hold"

Olympia band Sleater-Kinney put on a stellar show at Boise's Knitting Factory Friday evening, joined by Boise band The French Tips.

The band's two key members are Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein, the latter of which is known for her role in IFC sketch comedy Portlandia, which satirizes Portland's alternative culture.

Sleater-Kinney's new record, The Center Won't Hold, is a forceful return to form and the band's first record since 2015. Initially, Las Vegas-based musician Shamir was set to join the tour, but dropped out shortly before tour began.
